FORMAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

To be eligible to apply to SSE Riga a candidate has to meet the following requirements:


1. A secondary school education completed by July 2011 or earlier.
2.
State examination results in Mathematics and English. 

Applicants who are residents of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and who completed their secondary education prior to 2009, and for applicants who completed their secondary education in a country other than Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, do not have to have state examination results in Mathematics and English to be eligible to apply. In addition to the online application form, applicants in this group have to submit a certified copy of the secondary education grade transcript and a copy of the photo page of his/her passport. The deadline for submitting these documents is May 9, 2011. Applicants in this group will be considered on a case by case basis by the SSE Riga Admissions Committee. If the application is approved, the Admissions committee will invite the applicant to the second step of the admissions procedure.

ON-LINE APPLICATION

All applicants who fulfil the formal entry requirements are welcome to submit an on-line application form.

The online application form will be available from February, 2011. The deadline for submission of the online application is Monday May 9th, 2011 at 18:00 (Latvian time).

THREE-STEP SELECTION
SSE Riga runs a three-step selection process: Assessment of satisfactory fulfillment of eligibility  criteria, the SSE Riga Test, and interviews. Based on cooperation agreements with testing centres in Riga, Vilnius and Tallinn, SSE Riga receives  state examination results in early July, therefore results can be processed at this time, and thus taken into account for final decisions.  Applicants who received their secondary education in a country outside the Baltic States should submit a certified copy of their grade transcript by May 9, 2011.

STEP 1
On-line application forms will be reviewed, and approximately 400 top applicants who have fullfilled the eligibilty criteria are selected for Step II. The results will be published online at www.sseriga.edu.lv on June 1, 2011.

STEP 2

On June 28, 2011, selected applicants will take the SSE Riga Admissions Test that consists of the following: Logical aptitude tests, English language tests, and Mathematics. The tests aim to evaluate analytical and critical thinking skills.
All tests are in English. To take the tests, applicants should have a pen, a pencil and an eraser; no other materials are allowed.
The tests will take place at SSE Riga, Str─ôlnieku iela 4a, Riga.

STEP 3
From July 3, 2011 interviews will take place starting at SSE Riga, Str─ôlnieku iela 4a, Riga. Approximately 200 of the top performing candidates will be selected for interviews.

The final results will be based on the outcome of the SSE Riga tests and Interviews. The 120 top candidates will be selected to study at SSE Riga.
The final results will be published online at www.sseriga.edu.lv on July 8, 2011.

REGISTRATION AND IMMATRICULATION

To become a student of SSE Riga, an admitted candidate should register by August 5, 2011 and submit originals of the following documents:

  • Secondary school diploma
  • Grade transcript
  • State examination certificates.

If a candidate does not register for studies on time, the Admissions Committee has the right to invite the next candidate from the reserve list. Immatriculation will finish on August 15, 2011.

The new academic year begins on August 22, 2011.
