Andris Strazds graduated from the Stockholm School of Economics in Riga (SSE Riga) in 1996 and got his master’s degree in International Economics and Business at the Stockholm School of Economics in Sweden in 1998. Since then he has been teaching International Finance, Managerial Economics and Business Valuation and Strategy in the undergraduate, Executive MBA and various non-degree executive education programs at SSE Riga. Andris is a sought after speaker and has moderated or participated in many public discussions, seminars and conferences. Since 2003 he has also published several articles and numerous expert opinions in the Latvian national daily “Diena” and its business supplement “Lietišķā diena”.

For more than eight years now Andris has also been very active as practitioner. He has worked as industry and credit analyst at two leading commercial banks in Latvia (2000 – 2003) and held the position of strategy development manager at the Latvian fixed line telecommunications operator Lattelekom (2003 – 2005). Since 2005 Andris is active as business consultant and has managed or been involved in numerous corporate finance, strategic advisory, valuation and financial due diligence assignments in Latvia and Russia as well as advised leading commercial banks in Latvia on macroeconomic issues. Besides Latvian Andris is fluent in English, German and Russian and has good working knowledge of French.
